Sapporo Skates Again. 1984.

Nearly 50 years ago at the 1972 Olympic Winter Games, the brilliant Janet Lynn arrived in Sapporo, Japan, and not only enchanted the people of Japan—forming a bond that lasts even today—but the world alike. Held in mid-December 1982, the 1983 World Junior Championships were contested at Zetra Olympic Hall in Sarajevo as part of the run-up to the 1984 Games that would open just over a year later. As figure skating pins go, the smiling face of Vuchko, gliding along effortlessly with very nice form, is a decidedly refreshing change of pace from most mascot pins of the era, which generally tended to be unsophisticated.

Design by Norbert. 1982.

According to an article published in the December 1981 issue of the now-defunct American Skating World magazine, the pin for the 1982 World Junior Figure Skating Championships was designed by Norbert Schramm, the three-time West German champion

Three for Three. 1978.
