Besides the famous three rivers, three other things connected to Pittsburgh are the three pins issued for the 1983 U.S. Figure Skating Championship: two logo pins, in different sizes, and a mascot pin featuring Patches the Panda. Up to that time, no other national figure skating event had issued more than two pins, so this was a first, and the pins are fine mementos of a good, if not particularly memorable, event.
