Lighting the Way. 1974.

The design of the pin produced for the 1974 U.S. Figure Skating Championships incorporates an iconic sight in Rhode Island: a lighthouse. Although it isn't clear if the silhouette used on the pin depicts a specific lighthouse, it is clear that the pin was made for an event of the 1970s. On a silver-color base metal, the 1-1/8" diameter (2.8575 cm) pin features deep red and blue colors, hinting at patriotism, a design direction popular in the mid-1970s.
